«Only life is my gentle attempt at writing about what it’s like to be close to someone who struggles with their mental health. A lot of the time we are told to just pick ourselves up and “get over it,” and I’ve seen first hand how this can lead to attempting to numb the pain with substances and destructive behavior. Still, I wanted the track to feel soothing and uplifting, as a reminder to the listener that it can get better, no matter how bad it may be right now.»
